Scholarship & Training:
In today’s era of a modernistic approach towards simplicity in every aspect of designs and décor, the consumers prioritize wanting products that are basically practical yet contemporary. The consumer today wants an elaborate and intricate product that is simultaneously handy.
The members at AIPM appreciate consumer behavior and have been actively encouraging the process that needs to be designed to be able to cater to the demands of the consumer. And for the same, the Association organizes many activities that can update the communities involved in the trade to keep the operations flowing.
Training Workshops:
In Partnership with FFSC(Furniture & Fitting skills council),the Association also organizes training workshops for the Carpenters. Teams of various professionals are invited who teach Carpenters on how to measure, mark, test instruments and other holding and supporting hand tools. Further, demos are provided to use various saws and portable power saw machines for ripping, cross cutting, oblique sawing and curve cutting etc. These demos are made for the carpenters to participate and learn to identify & classify various types of joints, analyse and prepare correct joint at a correct position that is related with strength and appearance.
They are finally given an opportunity to carry out small wooden jobs as per drawings provided to them with schedule sizes of timber or alternatives of timber i.e. FRP, MDF, FOAM as a part of their practical training. A detailed exercise of analysing and using various carving tools and converting a wooden block in to a decorative article is also integrated in to these workshops. Lastly, the trainees shall be taught surface finishing with various processes such as painting, polishing, varnishing etc.
